Musical: "Wizard of Oz"

L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz has captured the hearts of every generation all over the world. It is the fairytale story of Dorothy Gale, a
girl who escapes her gray world and travels to a land "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Shortly after arriving Dorothy discovers that, while the new land
is full of vibrant cities, colorful characters, and adventures at every turn, these are all tainted by horrible dangers that threaten her very life.
Dorothy must fight her way through all of these perils if she is ever to find her way home. Along the way she learns the truth of the final words of
this musical: "There really is no place like home."
Readers Theatre: "Three Christmas Plays"

This year for Readers Theatre, we are presenting three separate plays sharing a common theme: Christmas. The Vision is the story of a Bavarian
shoe maker and his unique vision of Christ's coming. The Ballad of King Windowglass is a comedy about a king's journey to give a gift to a
peasant, and the subjects he meets along the way. The third play is a student's adaptation of the Christmas account from Scripture.
Winter Play: "The Crucible"

The Crucible is a tense and engrossing drama set during the Salem witch trials. The action revolves around John Proctor, a Salem farmer.
He once had an affair with his servant girl Abigail Williams, and his wife Elizabeth put her out. Abby along with some of her friends is now crying
out members of the parish as witches. Abby's cruel motive becomes evident as she plots to have John Proctor for herself by eliminating his wife.
The action takes us in to Proctor's struggle between saving his life and telling the truth, Elizabeth's discovery of her deep love for John, and the
witch expert Reverend Hale's revelation that human life is the most precious gift.
Childrens Theatre: "The Trial of Goldilocks"

Once upon a time the age-old story
of Goldilocks wasn't all it seemed to be.
The three bears take her to court for invading
but the defense lawyer pins it all on their leaving.
What was, what is, and what might have been
is turned upside down again and again
in this the comic Trial of Goldilocks.
So come, enjoy a laugh or two or eight
as 6 jurors, 3 bears, 2 lawyers, the little lady herself,
a clerk and a judge discover their fate.

The Barber of Seville by Pierre-Augustin de Beaumarchais is a clever comedy full of lively characters. A father wants to marry off Rosine,
his only child, to a doctor, but Count Almaviva has fallen madly in love with her. He employs the help of his friend, Figaro, to win her hand through
humorous wordplay and daring deceptions.
